I’ve always wanted to do a “trash the dress” session but haven’t had any brides game for it yet. I don’t really want to trash a dress, I just want to be able to shoot at locations and not be afraid to get the dress dirty. So I bought a wedding dress off Craigslist and asked my beautiful friend Toby if she wouldn’t mind being a bride for a day and she accepted! She’s such a trooper. Thankfully the sun was out and it was actually quite warm. ¬†By the end of the day the dress was pretty muddy at the bottom and a bit torn in places, but nothing too damaging.
Another reason for wanting to do this shoot was to try out my new back-up camera, the Nikon D300. I have to say, I’m pretty impressed! The b/w shot below was shot in a dim location right after the sun had just set, with the ISO set at 3200. I have a bigger version of it as well as a few of these other photos on my¬†website. I can’t wait until I get my D3, which is due to arrive this coming Monday. I’m so excited, I’ve had this camera on order since late October. Anyhow, enough chatter… here are some photos for you to enjoy!
Toby also found a potential groom! Score!!! Hopefully her b/f doesn’t see this ūüėČ
Recently I assisted my good friend and photography partner Greg with a photoshoot for the¬†restaurant¬†Butterfly here in San Francisco. I’d never been there before but will most definitely be going for dinner in the near future. We devoured the food we photographed which was as delicious as it looks, specially the the¬†molten¬†chocolate cake and coffee ice cream (mmm-mmm!). ¬†Below are some of the photos I took while Greg was off photographing other things.
